A Life Lesson Learned.

2016 has been an exciting year so far. Yes it has been some time since I've popped in and said Hello, but for good reason. We were busy searching for one of these.

YES! A new House! A place that we can call our own and not have to worry about landlords and rental offices telling us what we can and can't do anymore. A week from today we will hold the keys to our first townhouse. We are so excited and grateful. We decided that we were not renewing our apartment lease for another year. We didn't start house hunting until the beginning of February. My fiancĂ© and I had no idea what to expect or how long the process would really take. With 3 months left on our lease, we started looking. That may have not been the best idea and believe me it caused a lot of anxiety for me. Would we find something in time?

Well we started with the wrong realtor and went to the wrong bank for pre-approval. Now we know to start with the right realtor first! He referred us to a mortgage broker that bent over backwards working with us in the short time we had. I know Accounting but I know nothing about mortgages. It was like learning a new language. And then finding the house was a whole other experience. We saw a few ugly houses, others in not so good areas, and one that smelled like urine. We found houses we liked only for them to be snatched up by someone else or we found houses where the property taxes were just outrageous that we couldn't afford it. After seeing one really ugly house where the pictures made it appear amazing, we decided to see a listing for this sweet townhome near the bay in South Miami. We fell in love with it and lo and behold that seller had no other offers for it after 2 open houses and many showings. It was just meant to be. St. Patrick's Day was truly a lucky day as that is the day they accepted our offer and signed the contract.

I can finally relax my mind a little bit now. I can't wait till we are moved. The house has 3 bedrooms. My fiancé and I agreed that the 3rd bedroom will be shared as his entertainment room and my craft room. I can't wait to have that extra space, not to mention the bigger kitchen, dining room, bathroom, and a garage! We also are by a lake. It will be glorious. A nice change of scenery.

Hopefully next month, I will be back to my projects and blog. I have been knitting and stashing. I need to stop the stashing cause that just means more to move! I will save my knitting for another post. I'm also doing a model stitch for X's and Oh's, but that is a secret project for now.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting!  Have a Wonderful Weekend.
