Some Non-Card Creations

You know you like your hobby when you stay up till the wee hours playing even though you know tomorrow is a work day. LOL Hey we all need to escape when the need arises. Tonight I worked on some projects for two swaps over at the Paper Wishes Message Board. One swap was a Scrapbooking Swap and the theme was to make tag like items using Red, White and Blue. For these I actually used a new template I bought. The folded items are actually "ribbon bows" not pinwheels or flowers. It is an awesome template and I'm glad I got it. The other swap theme was "Summer" and to make anything but a card. So I decided to make a picnic basket. What is great is that my recipient can turn around and re-use it as a gift box to someone else. Little does she know that inside I stuffed a few goodies from my craft stash for her.

New Week...New Challenges

Hello All:

I can't believe the summer is half way over. My son goes back to school in four weeks already. I remember the summers being longer than this. Then again I didn't work those summers cause I was still in school. The good ole days. :Sigh:.

Well today I was in the card making mood and found two great challenges to enter. Pear Tree Designs Challenge #10 is to make a Birthday Card. The layout came from the new sketch challenge over at Sunday Sketch & Stamp. I have to admit I really like sketch challenges. For me, deciding on the right layout for my cards is the hardest thing. The only sketches I stay away from are the ones with circles. I don't have circle die cuts I can use yet and I definitely am not going to attempt hand cutting circles. That would be too frustrating. Anyways, all of the materials for my card came from Paper wishes. The stamp focal is from the new Paper wishes stamp set, Magical Birthday. I colored it with colored pencils.

A Pretty Purple Card!

Here is my newest creation this week. Over at Paper Wishes, they are having their new contest. The challenge is to make a paper craft, card, LO etc using their new 3-D Dazzle stickers. Being a huge fan of dazzles, I had to get in on this challenge. I only had silver Flowers and Stars to work with. That in and of itself was challenging as I find silver only compliments certain colors. Voting begins July 16, so pop on over next week and cast a vote for your favorite creation entered.

I'm also entering this card into this weeks Corrosive Challenge Blog challenge which was to follow a simple sketch this week.

A New Christmas Card

Happy Tuesday! I have really enjoyed my long weekend off from work. Its given me the opportunity to put some extra time into my hobbies. Over at the Paper Wishes Message Board, the July Card Swap theme is Christmas in July. I actually started my card early for once, YEAH!

My card to the left uses an image from Prairie Fairy Designs called Roocat in the Stocking. Papers and Embellishments are from Hot off the Press. I'm entering this card into four challenges this week.

A Rainy 4th of July

Well it has been a rainy 4th of July afternoon here in South Florida. I'm sure there are some unhappy people right now cause their BBQ or beach plans were ruined. I can not remember when its rained on the 4th of July before. It usually happens on Memorial Day. It seems as though each year, the rain stays longer and longer. I often have to remind myself that I live in South Florida and not Washington State. I myself did not have plans today, so with that, I made a card that I'm entering into two challenges this week. Challenge #12 at Phindys Place Challenge Blog is Red, White and Blue. The digi is a Phindy's Place Image called "Up and Away". I'm also entering this card into the Friday Sketchers challenge this week. The layout of the card is their sketch of the week. In case you were wondering, the papers came from Michaels and the embellishments came from Paper Wishes.
