Hello Friends:

I hope you all have enjoyed your summer time. It came to an end so quickly just like every year. For me, it is a gentle reminder that our wedding is getting closer; October 28 to be exact! Surprisingly, the planning is almost done. All of it! I just need to finish some minor details, but other than that, it was a breeze to plan. I don't know what I worried about. I thought it would be all these crazy details, but I learned that weddings can be as simple or as complicated as you make them to be. It was a good lesson learned. Earlier this month we drove to the resort on Captiva Island to finalize the plans. This is the beach our ceremony will be on. We will also be doing cocktails and appetizers on the beach as well right after the ceremony. I can only pray that we have good weather that evening. **Fingers Crossed**

In the midst of wedding planning, working and preparing for the new school year, I managed to do some creating.  I finished crocheting a new little girl's beach hat, sized for a 6 - 12 month old. It is for sale in my Etsy shop here.

I used "I Love This Cotton Yarn" from Hobby Lobby. For a yarn item that is going to get wet, cotton yarn is a must. Personally, I like Hobby Lobby's cotton yarn more for wearable items. It is very soft, making it a nice choice for items a person will be wearing. I wouldn't use it for dishcloths or washcloths though. For items to be used in the kitchen or bathroom, I like to use Lily Sugar 'N Cream Yarn. This yarn is 100% cotton, but I find it to be thicker, not very soft, yet more durable for items you would clean with. I also like to use cotton yarn when I make Travel Coffee Cup Cozies. I made a few new ones. I have these listed here. These are really great to have on hand especially if you have one of those re-usable plastic travel cups from Starbucks. I just slip one of these over my hot cup, grab it and run out the door.

I did work on a few messy projects too, care of my two mischievous cats. Here is one example. I have a couple others. 

There is just something about pretty yarn wrapped in skeins that mesmerizes my cats. They have to get it and take it apart. I've already tried giving them their own little balls of yarn to play with, but those they could care less about. I spent a good 4 hours one Saturday afternoon untangling this mess and winding it into a cake for a new project. My cats got to it and unraveled it again! Totally my fault, I know. This yarn has mohair too, which makes it really fuzzy i.e a real pain to untangle.
